Cinema Brewers Shorts Competition
Short films from all over the world compete in this competition. The films will be presented at the festival in two blocks, one for American Indie Shorts, and one for International Shorts. The winning short will receive a price of € 2.500,-, made possible by the Cinema Brewers Film Fund.
American Indie Shorts
Short films from North America. Young American talents who are yet unknown to international audiences are invited to the selection, where they can take their first steps into the global limelight.
International Shorts are presented in two blocks at the festival. We work together witch Leiden International Short Film Experience in selecting the best of worldwide shorts today.
Founded in 2006, the Leiden International Film Festival (LIFF) has become one of the leading film festivals in the Netherlands showcasing feature films that examine the border between art-house and mainstream from all over the world. The 2015 edition lasted 10 days, screened 87 films, from 28 countries including Steve Jobs,Carol, Le Tout Nouveau Testament, Mistress America, Youth and Son of Saul.
With its American Indie Competition LIFF aims to discover and cultivate an audience for today's emerging American filmmakers in the Netherlands.
The 12th edition of LIFF will be from October 27 till November 5.
